My daughter attended Kindergarten at Seaside and is entering 1st grade there next week. I am so happy to have found Seaside. It is hard to describe what makes this school so special. It has a definite sense of community and focus on the whole child. Being Waldorf-inspired, it is a good mix of Waldorf ideals with real-world logic. My daughter learned sign-language, finger knitting, bread baking and watercoloring painting. She spent at least an hour a day outside and came home everyday dirty and happy. When it rained, the kids grabbed their rainboots and raincoats and headed outside with their teacher to explore. Learning is done through nature, song and meaningful work and play. Of course they are learning math, science, reading, history, etc but it is taught in such a unique and gentle way. I thank my lucky stars that we made it into this amazing school!
