Our warmer weather has returned here in Florida, and summer begins in three months already. Early registration for summer camps has begun, so we wanted to put together the ultimate Guide to Summer Camps for the Jacksonville area. This comprehensive list covers everything from Art to Zoo.

Looking for a way to get your child out in nature, learning, and having fun this summer? Come to Summer Camp at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens! Summer Zoo Camp starts the week of June 15th and runs through August 7th.  Camp is open to children ages 5-13, with a variety of age-appropriate topics to choose from. Each day of our week-long camps includes hands-on animal encounters, behind the scenes excursions, Zoo tours, crafts, activities and more! This year will also include special trips to our newest exhibit: Titanoboa. Mark your calendars–online registration will open in early April.

Campers will spend their time in the classroom, in the museum and outside in some instances for their camp. They will fill their day learning about the topic at hand through hands-on demonstrations, experiments and crafts. Children will have free time to explore the museum exhibits and will be able to attend at least one science show, animal show or planetarium show. Space week includes off-site field trips. Camp themes include: Dr. Seuss; Pirate and Princesses; LEGO Mania; Puppet Palooza; Dinosaurs; Planes, Trains, and Automobiles;  Space Camp: Austronauts, Space Pioneers, Cosmic Cosmos; St. Johns River Week;  Mission Possible; Mummies; Now You See It, Now You Don’t; Fort MOSH; Get Your Game On; Inventor’s Workshop; Micro MOSH; Fire and Ice; Grossology; Built It; Rockets and Roller Coasters; Dissection; MOSH Survivor Camp; and Throw-Back Science.

Join our All Sports & Activity Camp this summer! Our Camp is designed to give boys and girls the opportunity to learn about many different sports including: Ice Skating, Basketball, Baseball, Football, Hockey, Soccer, Frisbee, Kickball, Lacrosse, Running exercises and Volleyball, as well as many traditional camp activities including games and arts & crafts. Chappell Makes Learning Fun! Especially in the Summer! Please join us for our fun-filled ten-week adventure at Deerwood or Riverplace Campus. Our camps are themed and include Pirate Week, Science and Nature, Fine Arts, Sports, Ranch, Animals, Under the Sea, Space, Moovin’ & Groovin’ and Carnival Weeks. Campers will enjoy two field trips a week to places like MarineLand, St. Augustine, Bricks, Adventure Landing, Zoo, Alligator Farm, and Cummer Museum just to name a few.

Camp is open to children ages 5 (or post VPK) to 12. Spend the summer creating!  The Cultural Center summer arts programs are designed to encourage artistic expression, art appreciation, and imagination.  Camps are open to children ages 3-16.  Nine weeks of camps, each with a different theme, offering an opportunity to explore, create, and learn from professional artists and arts educators.  All art supplies and a snack are included, campers should bring a sack lunch and dress for mess!

It’s that time of year again! Sign up for Doing Dishes Kids Art Camps before we fill up! Camps are held daily, Tuesday-Thursday from 9am-12pm. Each week we will have a different theme. Kids will create two great projects a day. Jacksonville Youth Soccer Club offers soccer camps each summer designed to improve your child’s individual soccer skills while inspiring their love for the game. The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer’s Vacation Bible School will be June 22nd- June 26th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. CummerCamp Cummer at the Cummer Museum of Art

The Cummer offers camp for both elementary and middle school students, and is designed for students with a variety of art experience. Children of all ages will create art projects inspired by their exploration of the Cummer Gardens and Galleries including painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and clay sculpture.
