Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens

When school’s out, Zoo Camp is IN! MOSH

From June 5 through August 4, MOSH Summer Discovery Camp goers will get to explore science, history, astronomy and more with weekly adventures that are sure to tap into a child’s interests. Campers will become honorary members of the MOSH Exhibits Team to explore the history of engineering, build with different types of materials, and construct their very own take-home creations in MOSH’s workshop! And, space camps will feature a trip to Kennedy Space Center.

More than 25 camp topics will be offered over nine weeks. Building Bricks, Mythbusters Physics Frenzy, Mini Engineering, Superheroes Science Academy, Hunger Games Survival Science, Dino Discovery, Space Travelers, Inventors Workshop, and Body Works are among the offerings.  Plus, campers will get to explore the Museum’s traveling exhibit, Dinosaurs in Motion.

Summer Discovery Camps are offered primarily for kindergarteners through 5th graders with select weeks offered for 6th through 8th graders.  Camps are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are $205 for the week (some camps are an additional $25 for supplementary supplies and/or field trip transportation).  MOSH Members receive a 20% discount.  Before- and after-care is available.  To register visit:  www.themosh.org.

Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach

Spend the summer creating! The Cultural Center’s Summer Arts Programs offer studio-based arts curriculum in an intimate, creative environment that supports the artistic journey of each young artist of any skill level. Our arts instructors are all working artists and/or arts educators that focus of the process and experimentation of art-making which is the pathway to creativity.

During the weekly summer arts programs, young artists explore a wide range of styles, tools, materials and techniques in a supportive and enjoyable environment.  Structured projects support the freedom of independent expression while careful attention and guidance is given to the individual needs of the young artist.  No pre-requisites or skill level required for our programs but we suggest that your child have a desire to learn about the arts. For our Mini Creators & Youth Arts Camps, week long art-making education encompasses a combination of different disciplines to include painting, drawing, sculpture, new media, printmaking, mixed media, art history, and more.  Even though we prioritize process over final results, our arts educators will select artwork form each child to be displayed at the end of each week for their family to view.

Cummer Museum of Art

Immerse your child in summer art camp for a week of learning, adventure, and fun! Students will print, draw, paint, work with clay, and learn new ways to think and talk about art in the Cummer Museum’s Galleries and Gardens. Camp Cummer is for children entering grades 1 through 6.

CAMP DATES: June 5 – July 21, July 24 – July 28 (Middle School Camp Cummer).

CAMP HOURS: Monday through Friday, from 9 am – 3:30 pm. Extended Extended Care is available from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and costs $25 per week. PM Extended Care is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and costs $35 per week.

White Oak Conservation

Summer camp at White Oak is an experience your child will never forget! Campers ages 10 – 17 explore White Oak’s conservation breeding center for endangered species for a week-long journey in STEM education, exploration and fun. At White Oak, your child will get up close to amazing species like rhinos, cheetahs, okapi while they learn from leading experts in veterinary care, wildlife conservation and more. Campers also enjoy horseback riding, swimming, hiking, boating and other classic camp adventures! You can rest assured that your child is having fun in a safe, unique environment nestled in north Florida at White Oak’s 13,000-acre private conservation center.

CAMP DATES: Week-long camp sessions will begin the week of May 28 and end August 4. Campers arrive on Sunday afternoon and Depart Friday evening. There are no camp sessions the week of June 12, July 2, and July 23.

Beaches Episcopal School

Mark your calendars and make plans now for your children to “Live the Adventure” at the 2017 BES Summer Camp! Your students will experience an enormous variety of exciting activities centered around amazing themes for each week of camp. Summer Camp is open to all students entering PreK4 through sixth grade (students must be 4 years old by July 21, 2017, to attend as a PreK4 student). Students will be separated into two groups based on their rising grade level. One group will be comprised of PreK4 through first-grade students while the other group will consist of second through sixth-grade students.  Each week will feature activities based on a theme (Under the Sea, Princesses and Superheroes, Ooey Gooey Fun, and The Mighty Jungle) in the areas of Art, Cooking, Science, and Games. The founding principle of The Goddard School’s program is that children experience the deepest, most genuine learning while they are having fun. Marineland Dolphin Adventure

S.E.A Camp: Join our crew for a fun-filled week of science, activities, exploration, beachcombing and of course, dolphins! Campers will spend days outside enjoying the beach and exploring the Intracoastal hammock ecosystem. Science experiments, conservation projects and animal observations are included and camps will conclude with an exciting in-water dolphin encounter and a formal graduation ceremony.

T.E.E.N. Camp: An exciting opportunity for teenagers interested in the environmental field and local wildlife. This unique experience provides campers with an in-depth look into our local ecosystems and its diverse array of resident species. Campers will kayak the Intracoastal waterway, conduct lab experiments and perform mock field work for our Conservation Field Station. At the conclusion of the camp, participants will have the opportunity to participate in an in-water encounter with one of our bottlenose dolphins!

Join the Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camp at the University of North Florida for an incredible week of tennis! Under the guidance of head men’s tennis coach, Mark Finnegan, campers will receive a fun and unique tennis camp experience in Jacksonville. At the University of North Florida tennis camp, we break the campers into small instructional groups of similar age and ability so each child is working in a group that is commensurate with their experience level. Summer fun for kids! Our half-day golf clinic is one summer “school” every kid will love! The program includes all of the components that make up the great game of golf. From chipping, putting and full swing to the rules and etiquette, your kids will learn everything they need to know about the game of golf. Each Academy is designed and taught by our Golf Teaching Professionals in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Summer Academy is staffed with a low student-to-instructor ratio to ensure each junior golfer receives in-depth, hands-on attention while he or she develops a winning golf swing.

Christian Laettner is hosting another summer basketball camp at Bishop Snyder High School in Jacksonville, FL. The Duke All-American and 13 year NBA Veteran will bring his Christian Laettner Basketball Academy to Jacksonville for a 4-day basketball camp, which he will lead himself, July 24 – July 27. Coach Laettner will provide a fun, learning environment for the basketball player looking to improve their game, with a focus on skill development, striving to help players improve their ball handling and passing, while increasing their understanding of offensive and defensive concepts.
