Must Haves for Fall Entertaining with Sailors Siren

Must Haves for-2

I LOVE this time of the year. There is something in the air that lets us know that fall is just around the corner; football is back and all I can think about it having friends over for food and fun!

I did just that recently and invited friends over to watch the US Open and my beloved Noles. Lucky for me, I was entertaining in style, as I was given some AMAZING items to put to good use from Sailors Siren. Sailors Siren is a local online boutique specializing in unique goods and gifts that make your salty Southern life easier and more fabulous!  Who doesn’t love that!?

Mother/daughter owned Sailors Siren plans to open a brick and mortar location at the beach in 2016, but until then, you can shop all their fun items on the website. They offer free pick up or delivery services to residents of the beaches community using the code: FREESHIPPING on the site. And from now through the end of the year Sailors Siren will have local pop-up shops coming once a month.

Here are my 5 MUST HAVE items for entertaining this fall (or anytime really.)

5. Molly and Me Pecans

As guests were arriving, I put out a variety of Molly and Me pecans for people to snack on. These did not last long. We tried sneaky hot, praline, cinnamon sugar and sugar and spice and they were all delicious! I even threw some of the of the sugar and spice ones into my spinach, peach and Gorgonzola salad for the perfect salty/sweet bite. So yum!!

Mermaid arrow glass

4. Mermaid Wine Glass and Arrow Rocks Glass

I have to include both of these awesome pieces of glassware. My wine drinking friends snatched up the mermaid glasses and the girls could not stop talking about how we want mermaids on everything!  We LOVE a mermaid here at the beach. The guys snatched up the arrow glasses for their liquor drinks and because we are Noles fans, these are absolutely perfect without being too in your face FSU.

Tonic-Bottle-TRUE-1

3. TRUE Tonic Syrup

Each batch of TRUE Tonic Syrup is made with high-quality ingredients, replacing commercial tonic’s high fructose corn syrup and chemically-sourced quinine with cane sugar and cinchona bark, the original Peruvian bark the British cultivated in India to combat the effects of malaria. Who knew?! It’s also an ingredient in Sailors Siren’s signature cocktail: The Drunken Mermaid (see recipe below.)

2. Shake: A New Perspective on Cocktails

Shake is a unique cocktail book that expresses a seasonal and straightforward approach to drinks and entertaining and reminds us that mixing cocktails should be simple, social, and, above all, fun! We placed it by the bar and everyone had fun flipping through it and getting inspiration for combinations to try. I love the use of unusual ingredients (like rosemary!) and all of the drinks were easy to make and beautiful.

WP+Mason+Shaker+2+Sailors+Siren

1. The Mason Jar Shaker

This is my favorite must “go buy it now” item. Besides being ridiculously cute, I love how it dresses down a bar tool that can sometimes be a little intimidating to use. I have had shakers out before, and they don’t get used nearly as much as this glass shaker did. All my guests had a blast concocting different drinks throughout the night!  Seriously… you need this.

Like I said, Sailors Siren signature cocktail is the Drunken Mermaid. This drink received two thumbs up from both the guys and ladies–and were so pretty too!

The Drunken Mermaid:

2.5 oz. of Rum (Best served with Clement Rhum Blanc Agricole)
1 oz. True Tonic Syrup
3/4 oz. Grenadine
Lime La Croix or Pellegrino to your liking
Garnish with a lime and mint when available
