Announcing JMB’s 3rd Annual Amazing Mom Contest!

We know that all moms are amazing, but do you know a real Super Mom? They are all around us – moms that amaze us, inspire us, challenge us to better or show us how to be better versions of ourselves. Because JMB loves moms we’re holding our 3rd Annual Amazing Mom Contest – just in time for Mother’s Day!

Last year’s Amazing Mom winner, Lisa Watterson was nominated by her sister-in-law for her dedication to her family and her community. Lisa is actively involved with Foster Closet, collecting items for local foster families. She’s a mom to 2 boys, one here on earth and one in heaven. Sadly, her youngest Eli lost his battle with a rare autoimmune disorder last year.

Our 2014 winner, Blake Barkoski, is still inspiring us. She is the proud and tired wife and mom of three inquisitive and energetic kiddos. Her son Will, who suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, was able to go to the San Francisco Zoo with the Make a Wish Foundation. He was also the recipient of a adaptive bike during The Great Bike Giveaway.

Details: Beginning today we will be accepting submissions for the 3rd Annual Amazing Mom Contest. We are looking for a local mom that stands out in the crowd and that’s amazing in your eyes. Whether it’s an impact she’s making in the lives of her children or others, an impact on the Jacksonville community, an example she is setting for other moms, or just an outstanding job in her role as a mom, we want to honor the local mom you look up to.

It might be your mom, your neighbor, your grandmother, your best friend, your child’s teacher or even yourself, but we want to hear about the moms that inspire you!

Nominations will be accepted from husbands, fathers, grandmas, grandpas, friends and even kids themselves. Or you can even nominate yourself, if you feel deserving of such an honor (and we know you are). Emailing this post to your husband or kids as a gentle nudge is also totally acceptable.

How to Enter:

• Complete the online nomination form below.
• Please limit submissions to 500 words or less.
• Submissions will be accepted through Wednesday, April 27 at noon.
• The JMB team will select the finalist and those moms will be featured on Jacksonville Moms Blog.
• On April 30, Jacksonville Moms Blog will feature our TOP FINALISTS and the voting will begin.
• WINNER will be announced on May 6^th.

Not only will our winner be crowned Jacksonville’s Amazing Mom, but she will also win an amazing prize package to spoil her!
