Summer is rolling right along as we welcome July! Celebrate America’s birthday this month with fireworks throughout the First Coast and don’t miss out on Free Slurpee Day and Cow Appreciation Day. Enjoy a day out at Jacksonville Beach Freedomfest and spend a morning at one of the Jax Moms Blog park hops happening all month in various locations. July 1: PAW Patrol Live!: Race to the Rescue 10:00 am PAW Patrol is on a roll with the first-ever live tour! It’s the day of the Great Adventure Bay Race between Adventure Bay’s Mayor Goodway and Foggy Bottom’s Mayor Humdinger, but Mayor Goodway is nowhere to be found.

July 1-2: Women’s PGA Championship Week 10:00 am Visit the Hall during the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship week and enjoy learning about Hall of Fame Members who are past champions. Special photo opportunity with tournament artifacts in the Grace & Grit: Women Champions Through the Years exhibition.

July 3: World Golf Village Fireworks 5:00 pm World Golf Village will celebrate Independence Day with its annual community fireworks on Monday, July 3. The stunning fireworks display will take place over the lake in the heart of World Golf Village at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tickets are not required to view the fireworks. Enjoy games for the kids and a live DJ.

July 3: Mama Blue at Jumbo Shrimp 7:00 pm Mama Blue will sing our National Anthem to kick off a game between the Jumbo Shrimp and the Mobile BayBears, followed by a 4th of July fireworks extravaganza!

July 4: Patriotic Express Celebrate America’s Birthday on a train bound for the year 1776. Teach your children the pride of being an American.

July 4: Celebration 5K 7:30 am The Celebration 5K is an early morning run/walk that is a great way to start off the holiday and show your American Pride! It features a great course, chip timing, lots of free food, including lots of watermelon, and fun for the whole family!

July 4: Middleburg Independence Day Parade 9:00 am The annual Independence Day Parade presented by MiddleburgBiz.com will be held in Middleburg at 9:00 am. The line up starts 7:30 AM The 2017 Theme is “Salute to Freedom.”

July 4: Restaurant Orsay’s 8th Annual 4th of July Backyard BBQ 1:00 pm Restaurant Orsay is excited to announce our 8th annual 4th of July Backyard BBQ. Before you head out to see the fireworks, come spend the day with us enjoying food, fun, & libations, all while supporting a great cause.

July 4: American Pride 4th of July 2:00 pm What 4th of July tradition would be complete without Moosehaven’s annual fireworks display and concert event? As part of the Heart of the Community, Moosehaven brings families together on the banks of the St. Johns.

July 4: July 4th Fireworks on the Southbank 5:00 pm Join us at 5Loaves 2Fish Cafe as you watch the Fireworks on the Southbank. Family Friendly! Beer and Wine Specials! Full dinner menu! Eat in the air-conditioned dinning room or take the food togo and sit on the Riverwalk. Limited outside seating available.

July 4: Independence Day Celebration RAM 6:00 pm This Fourth of July, celebrate under the bridge with live music, locals brews, food, and activities for the whole family! The fireworks start at 9:45 pm and we’ve got the perfect spot to view them!

July 4: Fireworks Display in Downtown Fernandina Beach 6:00 pm On the 4th of July around 9:30 pm, there is an annual fireworks display held in downtown Fernandina Beach. You’ll also find vendors, live music, games and other entertainment in the area. So be sure to stop by, and the festivities in downtown Fernandina beach normally start around 6:00 pm on the 4th of July, depending on the weather and schedule.

July 4: Adult Twilight “Fireworks BYOB” Cruise 8:00 pm On Monday July 4th at 8 pm, you can enjoy a special cruise designed for adults offered by Amelia River Cruises & Charters located on 1 North Front Street in Fernandina Beach, FL. This cruise will include music some of Fernandina Beach’s top musicians and gives you a chance to relax and enjoy incredible fireworks viewing on the Cumberland Sound during the evening of the 4th. Tickets are $28 each and you can purchase them ahead of the event to ensure you get a spot.

July 4: Family Friendly “Fireworks 2 Hour” Sunset Cruise 8:00 pm  If you’re bringing family along, you’ll have another option for a great relaxing cruise also offered by Amelia River Cruises & Charters. This event offers a great way to see the fireworks with your family while getting a short history of the area.

July 4: Jax Beach 4th of July Fireworks Celebration 9:00 pm Enjoy an evening of fireworks presented by the City of Jacksonville Beach at the Jacksonville Beach Pier.

July 4: Fourth of July Fireworks 2017 9:30 pm View the colorful and exciting Fireworks Over the Matanzas on July 4th in St. Augustine. A free two-hour concert will precede the fireworks show.

July 4: Fireworks over the St. Johns River 9:45 pm This year fireworks will be launched from a barge on the St. Johns River between the Hyatt and Double Tree hotels and high above the St. Johns River from the Acosta Bridge.

July 5: Ripley’s Free Summer Movie Series 8:30 pm The Summer movie series has moved to a new home this summer. Ripley’s has teamed up with the St. Augustine Colonial Quarter and together, we will present a great movie line up starting June 7th.

July 6-20: Spider-Man: Homecoming in IMAX A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark.

July 7: Corey Smith Live at Mavericks at the Landing 7:00 pm The way Corey Smith sees it, he owes a debt to his fans. And it’s one he is determined to repay with his 10th album, While the Gettin’ Is Good.

July 7: Sounds on Centre 6:00 pm Sounds on Centre is a free event, fun for the entire family. Concerts are on First Fridays through October.  Sounds on Centre is located at the intersection of Second Street and Centre Street in Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach Florida.

July 8: Open Farm Day 10:00 am Join us for July’s Open Farm Day! Congaree and Penn will be open for guests to explore the farm by foot or by bike, take farm tours, and enjoy the property. Admission is $10 per car and can be purchased at the farm on Saturday by cash or credit card.

July 8: Asian Food Festival 5:00 pm Enjoy authentic Asian and Asian-inspired dishes from Cely’s Filipino Food, Fusion Food Truck, Hapa Li, & Blazin Azn, Kazo Sushi Burrito, Asian American Finger Foods, and First Coast Snowie Ice. Plus imported Asian beers like Lucky Buddha Beer, Tiger Beer, Red Horse Beer and more. We’ll also have kids fitness activities from My Gym Jacksonville. Plus live music & entertainment from folk-rock, singer-songwriter duo Billy & Bella.

July 10: Teddy Bear Picnic Day 1:00 pm Celebrate National Teddy Bear Picnic Day with us for an indoor picnic on Monday, July 10th from 1-3 PM on the Lower Level in the Dillard’s Court!

July 11: Free Slurpee Day Stop in at your local 7-11 gas station for a free treat to keep you cool. Cost: Free

July 11: Cow Appreciation Day Celebrate Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A on July 11th.  Visit any Chick-fil-A dressed as a cow and you’ll receive a free meal.  You’ll get a free entrée for partial cow attire. Cost: Free, but the free meal doesn’t include a drink for adults.

July 14: Night at the Zoo 5:30 pm See the Zoo in a whole new light during our Night at the Zoo events! Join us from 6:30-10:00 pm for live music, food trucks, cash bars, plus your chance to see the animals on exhibit until 8:30pm.

July 14: Reel Fun Night 6:00 pm Come to Town Hall Park for a Reel Fun Night this summer.  Kids activities start at 6 pm and the movie will begin at sundown (about 8:30 pm). Be sure to bring a blanket to sit on.  There will be popcorn and other foods available for purchase. All movies arefamily-friendly.

July 15: 4th Annual Jax Community & Family Awareness Expo 11:00 am This event is all things FAMILY! The 4th Annual Jax Community & Family Awareness Expo will feature a large diverse vendor market with samples, product demos, fashion/beauty retailers, health/wellness vendors, Finance/Education/Job Resources and so much more all within an energetic environment.

July 15: Amazon Adventure Day 9:30 am Experience a close encounter with animals from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. Have a meet and greet with their talented Zookeepers and learn about animals you would encounter in the Amazon.

July 15: Tonca the Turtle’s 51st Birthday at MOSH 10:00 am The Museum of Science and History (MOSH) is gearing up for the coolest birthday party of the year! On Saturday, July 15 from 10-2 pm, MOSH will host a 51st birthday bash for Tonca, the Museum’s beloved alligator snapping turtle.

July 15: Jacksonville Beach Freedomfest 12:00 pm Food trucks: 10+  of Jacksonville’s top food trucks including BBQ and other American fare. Family Friendly: There will be a kid zone, arts and crafts vendors, games and activities + fun for all ages. Live music and entertainment will include local and regional acts.

July 17-21: KidX 2 Weeks of Summer Fun – Week 2 1:00 pm Join us for week 2 of Summer Fun. Each day has a different theme and will be held in different locations throughout the mall.

July 19: $5 Admission at the Zoo General admission tickets are just $5 for everyone on Wednesday, July 19. No coupon required!

July 21: HERI Expo 2017  2:00 pm If you are thinking of homeschooling, a new homeschooler or a veteran this LOCAL event is for you! Come be encouraged and inspired. We have curriculum vendors, special needs homeschooling information, informative speakers and break out sessions.

July 21: End of Summer Party with DJ Dust 2:00 pm End of summer party with DJ Dust at the Orange Park Library. All ages are welcome.

July 22: End of Summer Party—Fleming Island Library 10:30 am Join us and DJ Dust as we celebrate a successful ending to our 2017 Summer Reading Program! There will be music, games, and food! All ages are welcome.

July 22: End of Summer Party—Middleburg  2:30pm All ages are welcome to come celebrate your summer reading accomplishments at our end of summer party with special guest DJ Dust!  Summer Reading Program contest prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served.

July 27, 28, and 31: Jaguars Training Camp 10:30 am Fans can attend the Jaguars training camp practices held at the Practice Fields at EverBank Field on July 27, 28, 31, August 1, 2, 3, 14 (vs Bucs), 15 (vs Bucs). Gates open each day 30 minutes prior to practice beginning.

July 28: Night at the Zoo 5:30 pm See the Zoo in a whole new light during our Night at the Zoo events! Join us from 6:30-10:00 pm for live music, food trucks, cash bars, plus your chance to see the animals on exhibit until 8:30 pm.

July 29: Painting of the Paw Prints 7:30 am Families are invited to join the JAX Chamber Downtown Council for the annual Painting of the PawPrints event. Starting from the base of the Main Street Bridge to EverBank Field, participants will meet in Lot X or H at 7:15am and break into groups to paint all 330 of the paw prints along Bay Street. Over 500 attendees participate in this event each year.  After the painting is complete, attendees will enjoy a family-friendly after party in Lot X or Lot H (TBD) from 9:30am to 10am, where they will kickoff the 2017 Jaguars season in style with appearances from Jaxson de Ville, the ROAR of the Jaguars and D-Line. 

July 29: GO-Green Back to School Health and Wellness Event 8:30 am Environmental awareness education, rock climbing wall, urban gardening, plant & seed sale, backyard chickens, music and arts, bike safety, and much more! Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must preregister to receive a free backpack with school supplies. Free healthy meal, children’s physicals, health and wellness information.

July 1-31: Dinosaurs in Motion at MOSH Dinosaurs in Motion is an interactive, engaging STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) exhibition that is truly for visitors of all ages. Dinosaurs in Motion engages and educates by using 14 magnificent, fully interactive, recycled life-size metal dinosaur sculptures inspired by actual fossils.

July 1-31: Regal Summer Movie Express 10:00 am Starting on June 6th, Regal Theaters will offer kid movies for just $1 at 10 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Cost: $1 per person. Check link for locations.

July 1-31: Disney Summer Play Days 3:00 pm Events take place every day at 3 pm, all summer long. Kick off Summer Play Days Saturday, June 10 with a Cars 3 Event. Check your local store for details.

July 1-31: BOGO Days of Summer at the Zoo The summer is really heating up with our hottest new deal! Buy one regularly priced ticket and get one for $5! Mondays through Fridays in the month of July.

 July 1-6: Transformers: The Last Knight, IMAX 3D Optimus Prime finds his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet, which he comes to find he was responsible for killing. He finds a way to bring the planet back to life, but in order to do so he needs to find an artifact, and that artifact is on Earth.

July 11: Family Park Hop Night With Community 9:00 am First Join us at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville for Family Park Hop Night With Community First! As one of the premier Minor League ballparks in North American, the Baseball Grounds and Jumbo Shrimp games are perfect for a family night out with comfortable seating, easy access to concessions and bathrooms and there is even a playground inside the ballpark!

July 14: JMB Park Hop at Twenty Mile Park 9:00 am This 75-acre eco-friendly park features picturesque lakes, nature trails, and bike paths in addition to covered playgrounds.

July 17: Park Hop: St. Augustine Project SWING Park 9:00 am Located in historic downtown St. Augustine, this 23,000 square foot playground offers a unique wooden play space complete with tubes, towers, a fort, a space shuttle, and a lighthouse.

July 18: JMB Zoo Playdate 9:30 am Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY! Please join the JMB Neighborhood Groups for our Monthly Zoo Play Date, where we’ll go on an exciting scavenger hunt to learn more about the fascinating animals that live in our beautiful zoo! We will meet at Main Camp at 9:30 am! Remember to turn in your completed sheet to Jennifer Beamer by 11:00am and a winner will be randomly selected to attend the next night at the zoo on July 28!

July 19: Park Hop: Boone Park 9:00 am Boone Park is located in the Avondale area. Spanning 7 blocks in through the Avondale area, Boone Park has plenty of room to play. Our Park Hop will be help at the playground area off of St. Johns Avenue.

July 27: Park Hop: Fernandina Beach Pirate Playground 9:00 am Located North of Jacksonville, in Fernandina Beach this Pirate Playground is set in a breezy, shaded area among the trees behind the Atlantic Rec Center Auditorium and next to Egan’s Creek. The community-accessible playground integrates exercise, art, nature, music, imagination, and local history for children of all physical and mental abilities.
