You want to make the Christmas season magical for your children, just as your parents did for you. But the thought of a family road trip has you feeling, “Bah-Humbug.” Don’t despair — Christmas Past is alive and well on Amelia Island this December 8 – 11 at the 2nd annual Dickens on Centre, where the quaint streets of downtown Fernandina Beach are transformed into a Victorian wonderland.

Feel the Christmas cheer, smell the aroma of roasting chestnuts, listen to the joyous voices of carolers strolling… wonder and wander through the classic Dickens novella A Christmas Carol brought to life. Activities for kid include visits and photos with Saint Nick, readings from ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, an old-fashioned kids zone, a chance to drop a note to Saint Nick’s elves, and even a performance on stage of A Christmas Carol.

An America’s Youth Lighted Christmas Parade will open the event on Thursday, December 8, with over 23 hours of stage entertainment throughout the weekend. Adults can take a step inside historic homes during the annual Holiday Homes Tour (December 2 & 3) or enjoy the Bed & Breakfast Cookie Tour of Inns (December 10).
