It’s All About Food for Fall Y’all

Fall is about to arrive and along with the leaves turning autumn colors, we will begin to see the arrival of fall-flavored ingredients like pumpkins, apple, candy corn and sweet potato making their way into the stores. Shelves will be stocked with them while fall recipes start taking over the internet and of course, pretty autumn food photos will soon be blowing up Instagram and Pinterest.

This upcoming fall season, I want to join in the fun and add kid-friendly, fall-themed snack ideas to whip up for my kids. Here are a few that I found that your kids may enjoy, too. The best part is they don’t take much time to make!

Candy Corn Colored Snacks

As a child, I loved candy corn. Now, as an adult, not so much. There is no denying, however, that candy corn is a popular candy during the fall season. Here are a couple snack ideas inspired by the color combinations of the iconic candy:

Candy Corn Fruit Cocktail

Use orange and yellow-colored fruit like pineapples and clementine oranges to quickly make this snack. I also threw some pears in since my kids love eating those. Add whip cream and sprinkles or a candy corn to top it off!

Sweet Potato Snacks

Sweet Potato is a vegetable my kids will actually eat without a fuss!  The same as the microwavable apple chips, you can make sweet potato chips in the microwave.  While you’re at it, try the gluten-free Baked Sweet Potato Tots with ketchup:

Falling Leaves

Blankets of falling leaves will soon cover the ground. Include them in your child’s snacks with these fun autumn cookie cutter cutouts:
