As a self-professed baby gear enthusiast, I absolutely love shopping around town for the best products for my children, and it’s even more fun around the holidays. It’s without a doubt that I recommend Bay & Bee to everyone for a must-stop on their holiday shopping list; they are open for members and non-members. The shop includes top recommended brands and developmental toys for young children. The owners have been growing their shop selections so fast this summer, and they just returned from the ABC Kids Expo, the biggest juvenile product expo, with new finds, so their shelves are bursting with tons of fabulous unique finds.

I want to do a quick list of my favorite picks by ages for this holiday season.

For the Infants

Teething, Clutching, & Sensory Input

1) Gummee Glove

The Gummee Glove is a teething mitten that is worn by the infant and includes a detachable teething ring and side teethers. The glove includes textured teething tags, crinkle patches to engage the senses, and a vivid, stimulating, high contrast print.

2) Toofeze

Toofeze is an award-winning baby teether made from food-grade silicone and stainless steel. Its cutting-edge design is recognizable, materials are natural, non-toxic, and the cool silver disc provides a therapeutic numbing effect on sore, swollen gums.

3) Hevea

Hevea natural rubber latex products are safe and gentle for baby. The solid design eliminates bacteria and the ergonomic shape gives room for baby’s nose and chin. My son used to love his Hevea Panda Teether, and I loved it because it was easy to clean, easy to thread a toy clip through so it didn’t fall off the stroller, the texture was welcome for him, and, as a bonus, it was cute!

4) Amber Jewelry / Teething Necklaces

Bay & Bee has an excellent selection of amber, silicone, and wooded crocheted teething necklaces that are gorgeous. We used all three with our older son, and we will definitely be doing the same with our newborn when teething time arrives. Stop in a find the perfect look for yourself, or give a tired new mom friend one as a gift to help both her and her baby!

 For the Toddlers

5) Tegu Blocks

Tegu (short for Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras and where they are created) Blocks are one of my absolute favorite gifts to give. The beautiful, unique, wooden magnetic blocks let your child explore their imagination with building creations. The blocks are addicting to play with, fun for adults, and we have quickly grown our collection over each holiday. If you haven’t played with Tegu before, try them out at Bay & Bee and you’ll be hooked. They have a magnetic panel on the wall so your and your child’s imaginations can run in many directions.

6) Green Toys

Green Toys’ vehicles and toys are made from 100% recycled plastic. The materials come from milk jugs, among other plastics, and have a fantastic texture and appearance. The colors are not overstimulating, as many plastic toys can be, and the construction is durable. I have a preschool boy who has put his Green Toys to the test daily this summer in the pool, the dirt, and the bathtub and they all show no signs of wear and tear. I honestly don’t know how they do it! Add one to your gift list for your child and a friend this holiday season. They’re always a hit!

7) Petit Collage

The brand Petit Collage is one of my favorite modern kids brands. The fresh, whimsical designs make their open-ended toys and cute puzzles even more fun for play! My son has their Mix & Match Coloring Robot Dolls and has a great time designing their details. Their room decor, wooden prints, stacking blocks, push toys and more should not be missed!

8) Plan Toys

Plan Toys are created in Thailand and made from sustainable rubberwood. The texture is smooth and unique, the toys are sturdy, and the creative and educational possibilities are endless. If you’re going to purchase just one thing from Plan Toys, you should pick up the Gears or Play Foods!

 For the Parents

9) Tula Baby Carrier

There is nothing more helpful to new parents (other than maybe food or sleep) than having a safe and secure place to hold their child from newborn through toddlerhood. Babywearing is the best way to keep your baby or child close, foster independence through attachment, and have your hands free to go about your day. Bay & Bee stocks a bounty of Tula carriers, one of the most popular brands of Soft-Structured Carriers (SSCs) on the market. If you are new to babywearing or have any questions, just stop in, and they will be happy to take the time to help you.

10) Milestone Cards

The last time I was in the shop, I was shown the Milestone Cards and was struck by how beautifully they are illustrated. The fonts are great, the design is fun, and the content is excellent. These Milestone Cards cover every little detail from Pregnancy and Newborn through Toddlerhood. They are a fun and clever way to mark counting milestones, potty, first words, and more!
